Program Description:
TENNESSEE - Mountain T.O.P.
Saturday, March 7 - Saturday, March 14, 2020

Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project) is an interdenominational, non-profit Christian ministry affiliated with the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist church, dedicated to alleviating rural poverty in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. The ministry serves seven counties through major and minor home repair and children's programs. Through partnership, empowerment and community interconnectedness, the ministry seeks to meet the social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs of the community.

Students will spend two days working with families on major or minor home repair projects in the community and two days helping renovate and build in-camp facilities.

In the morning, students will participate in camp-wide morning devotionals led by student volunteers.  In the evening, students can be a part of sharing, devotions, and worship.  Students will also attend a local church!

Teams will travel in two vans and stay in cabins with bunk beds. Students will need long pants, closed toed shoes, as well as t-shirts/sweatshirts for the workday.

Wheaton students must be prepared to physically work during this trip. Volunteers will be working on construction projects of various types. These could be messy, physically challenging, or both. Wheaton students must possess the emotional stability to cope with stressful situations and have the flexibility to adapt to ambiguous situations and unmet expectations. You must understand the physical, mental, and emotional requirements of this trip and believe that you are a good fit before signing up.

COST OF TRIP: $450, including a $50 non-refundable deposit due at sign-up (deposit can be paid by cash or check.)
Once you sign-up, you are responsible for the full cost of the trip.

There are 12 spaces available (6 male and 6 female spaces)

This trip is offered through BreakAway Ministry,  a ministry of the Office of Christian Outreach, which is located at the North entrance to the Todd M. Beamer Student Center.
